KANKAKEE, IL (August 29, 2025) – St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee announced the addition of three new physicians to its medical staff, reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to the community.
Among the newest providers is Adham Karim, MD, a board-certified interventional cardiologist with extensive training from the University of Illinois Chicago, Case Western Reserve University, the Gill Heart and Vascular Institute at the University of Kentucky, and the University of Chicago.
Dr. Karim joins the growing Cardiology Group at St. Mary’s, which offers a full spectrum of advanced services including:
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab with capabilities for AFib ablation, STEMI and NSTEMI care, cardiac stents, and balloon procedures
- Non-invasive diagnostics including stress testing, echocardiography, and electrocardiograms (EKG)
Additionally, Osman Aman, MD joins the St. Mary’s Primary Care team. Dr. Aman is board certified in Internal Medicine and has a special focus on treating hypertension. He trained at Chicago Medical School and Batterjee Medical College for Sciences and Technology.
Finally, Carlos Gonzalez, MD has recently committed full time to St. Mary’s. Dr. Gonzalez is board certified in robotic general surgery with special interests in gastrointestinal, endocrine, dermatologic and oncology diseases. He completed his surgery residency training at Indiana University.

In addition to expanding its physician team, St. Mary’s continues to enhance services across the hospital:
- Emergency Department: Fully staffed and equipped to accept both ambulance/EMS and walk-in patients, with the added convenience of FastTrackCare, allowing patients with non-emergent needs to reserve a time to see a provider in the emergency department.
- Orthopedics: Growing surgical and rehabilitation programs to meet the community’s needs for joint, bone, and sports-related injuries.
- Primary Care: Expanding access with new physicians joining the team, ensuring more families in the community can establish ongoing, trusted care close to home.
- Equipment upgrades: Installation of a new, state-of-the-art Radiology Radiography & Fluoroscopy room and the new IV pumps across our clinical units.
