St. Mary’s is the only hospital in Kankakee County to receive an “A” grade in Hospital Safety for Spring 2025, earning its third consecutive ‘A’ from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.
Lown Institute Hospitals Index
St. Mary’s Hospital earned “A” grades in Pay Equity, Health Equity, Patient Safety, and Inclusivity on the Lown Institute’s 2025–26 Hospitals Index, and ranked among the Top Five Hospitals in Illinois for Pay Equity.

Healthgrades
St. Mary’s Hospital earned the 2025 Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award, ranking in the top 10% of hospitals nationwide for the second year in a row. The hospital also received the Pulmonary Care Excellence Award, plus five-star ratings for COPD, pneumonia, and sepsis treatment.
